Pacific Steel planning another Utah Facility

Pacific Steel & Recycling Inc. plans to open a second Utah location that will focus on finished steel products.

The Great Falls, Mont.-based recycler and steel processor has purchased a 12-acre site in Syracuse, Utah, were it intends to construct a 100,000 square foot steel processing facility with rail access, according to Salt Lake City-based real estate company Ninigret Group.

Once completed in 2016, the facility with include a Red Bud coil lever with stretcher technology, a steel processing machine that vice president of steel operations Ed Joyce said is not currently found in the marketplace. Utah’s rail system and manufacturing base were the primary reasons for selecting the site, Joyce said in a statement.

Pacific Steele & recycling, which already has a finished steel plant in Salt Lake City, operates 46 facilities in nine western states and Canada.
